Earth, 2012. An unidentified object in space collides with the moon at extremely high speeds. The shattered fragments of both satellites rain down upon the surface of the earth, causing widespread devastation across the world.

Within weeks, these fragments have caused a wide range of damage to Earth. Cities are demolished. Phones and power are unreliable at best. The resulting tsunamis and earthquakes have wrought more death and damage.

No place was hit harder than North America, where the unidentified spherical object - still intact - struck near New York, creating a massive crater and sending reverberations, both literal and figurative, throughout the continent.

The resultant dust thrown into the air from these events have blacked out the sun from the majority of populated locations on Earth.

With the normalities of life disrupted on a global scale, electricity and technology unreliable in most situations, and the rumor that the unidentified object has unleashed strange robotic beings onto the surface of the planet, survivors in the ruined cities struggle to survive.

Four weeks have passed since the catastrophe. The journey begins.

Tristan, Rayne, and Ron have made it back in one piece to the Safe House - Tristan's hideout, where he's been gathering supplies and trying to monitor the situation as best he can. He has nearly enough supplies for a long journey south, planning to go into the States in the hopes of finding more survivors - and a city that hasn't been destroyed yet.

It isn't long until a wrench is thrown into the works. But then again, things never go according to plan. First, they must find a way to keep alive - and work together - before everything goes awry.

But then, a glimmer of hope appears.
