Chapter.1
First of all I’m a vampire, my name is Kalika and I am 2150 years old because since I am a vampire I do not age which for me is great. I was named after the god of darkness Kalio. My creator was Kredeulo which is Latin for creator of evil. This unfortunately makes me evil but good at the same time. Although I am half-good that doesn’t stop me from drinking the blood of humans. As a matter of fact if I had to choose between animal blood and human blood, I would most likely choose human blood although animal blood is just as filling, human blood makes me stronger not that I’m not strong enough already. No mortal knows that we exist because we keep a low profile. I have lived all over the world because I was changed when I was sixteen so I have to keep repeating high school. That sucks. Although I am a vampire I attend normal school to build knowledge just in case I need it in life. I don’t know about other vampires but I hate human food if I eat I fall weak when I am in a fight and I lose. Most myths say that we drain all the blood from our victim but really they just go unconscious and when they wake up they have a headache. 4
Chapter.2
“Kalika!” Jake whined. “I told you not to turn me into a vampire.”6
“What was I supposed to do? You were dying!” I said back. Jake is the security guard trainee at the prison I just escaped from. An even more evil vampire than me called Nikki Turez had just recently broken into the prison to try to kill me and in the process almost killing Jake before I saved him with my blood. As for Nita I killed her the only way a vampire can be killed. I ripped her to pieces.7
“You could have just let me die in peace like I asked. Now I’m never going to die. Oh just great!” He screamed at me.8
“You should find never dying an interesting experience although I got over it pretty fast you should have fun!” 9
“Whatever Kalika but you broke your promise to Kredeulo. Remember you swore to him that you would never change another person in your life.” He said.10
“I know but that’s not entirely true. I swore that I would never change another person unless they had another option. But the only options you had were to die or to be changed. So I changed you.” I replied.11
“Which brings me back to the whole let me die in peace thing!” 12
“Well excuse me. If you want to die come here and I’ll drain your blood because I was kind of thirsty anyway.” I said as I moved toward him.13
“No! Never mind. That won’t be necessary. I love being a vampire thank-you so much. Speaking of thirsty I am famished.” He replies backing away.14
“What does famished mean?” I ask15
“Oh god it means I am dying of thirst!” Jake yelled annoyed. 16
“Well, it looks like I can take you on your first hunt soon. Do you think you will prefer human or animal blood? You know what I think we will try both and you can tell me which you like best. I think it will be human blood even though the thought of drinking human blood sounds gross it tastes a lot better.” I offered17
“Uh… ok fine I guess I don’t want to die of thirst. Wait but do we eat human food. Because I feel like I don’t want to eat anymore.” He asked.18
“Well that depends because I don’t eat, I find it repulsive. But some vampires train themselves to but obviously you won’t like it anymore either.” I replied.19
Chapter.3
“Ok, it’s time to teach you how to hunt.” I told the nervous looking Jake. “It’s okay Jake. You’ll do fine. Trust me it’s easy.”21
“Ok. Um… I’ll try. I guess. Are you sure it’s easy.” He asked.22
“Sure. Look I’ll show you and you copy. You see over there the two mountain lions? They are weak because they are only young and haven’t had much experience. They are our easiest targets. After this we will go find a human for you ok?” I said23
“Um…I’m kind of scared but ok then. I trust you Kalika.” He said unsure.24
“Please I don’t want you to be scared. Now you have to concentrate. Now watch closely I will catch both of them and then you come over and take yours. Put your teeth right in the middle of its neck and bite down until you taste the blood and then just drink away. After this I will do the same with the humans. Ok.” As I leapt into the air with such grace it frightened Jake, I caught both lions around the neck and snapped both of their necks in just 2 whole seconds.25
“Quick Jake, come drink before all the blood drains away itself!” I called out to the still stunned Jake and in one second flat he was next to me satisfying his thirst. Once he was done Jake and I picked up our leftovers and dumped them in the river close by.26
“That was amazing. It tasted so good I don’t think I want to try human!” He called breathless.27
“Trust me Jake if you liked that you’ll love human blood. Just come on trust me!” I called back.28
“Ok fine then but can I please try to catch my own food this time. Just for practice in case I’m thirsty and you’re not around?” He pleaded. Wow he sounded desperate.29
“Ok fine but please be careful. I’ll be right behind you waiting to get my favorite meal of the day.”30
“That reminds me how often do we have to drink to survive?” He asked.31
“Well it depends if you’re a newborn which you are so you have to drink blood at least twice every second day. But for me it’s twice a week, but I will hunt with you until you are ready for twice a week which will take at least 50 years.” I answered.32
“Ok well I’m ready for the next round. Let’s go get some human blood.” He said as we ran at full speed into the city to get our main course.33
Chapter.4
“Wait a minute Kalika shouldn’t we be in school?” Jake asked stopping in his tracks.35
“Well yeah but I think I’m going to drop out anyway because I guess that I have repeated high school that much that everything just gets so old and boring. Besides I already know everything that gets taught so yeah.” I replied.36
“Yeah but what about me?” He asked.37
“Oh yeah I already called your work and school and told them you moved to Sydney. So you’re covered.”38
“Are we really moving to Sydney though?” 39
“Yes Jake, I got the next plane tickets from Brisbane to Sydney. So no one can find us.”40
“Alrighty then let’s go get some human. Where are we getting our next meal from Kalika?” Jake asked looking around.41
“Well you see that old abandoned building up there?” I asked Jake, pointing to an old apartment block.42
“Yeah.”43
“A bunch of homeless people live up there. Trust me they taste nice I’ve tried them before. The females taste the best. What do you say we go up there and get something to drink to wash down our appetizer?” I asked44
“Sure, let’s go!”45
Soon after we were in the door and up the stairs searching rooms for two female homeless people. A minute later we found two homeless ladies asleep on a broken old dirty mattress. But before they could lift there head to see who was at the door just to ease there pain as fast as possible, Jake and I - in one second flat- snapped their necks and in a flash drained them.46
“So what do you think Jake?” I asked him.47
“That was… great! They tasted great!” 48
“But are you still thirsty, Jake?”49
Umm… no I think I’m fine. Why are most newborns always thirsty?” He asked confused.50
“Well actually yeah most of them are always thirsty I guess it’s just like a power of yours or something, you just obviously have a lot of self-control.” I replied amazed.51
But to our surprise once we got down the stairs and started to head for the door and I heard a police siren coming from exactly 2km away which means that someone saw us and called the cops. 52
Chapter.5
“Jake! The cops are coming their onto us we have to get out of here. Quickly take this gun!” I said as I pulled out two machine guns out of my big bag that I hid under the floorboards of the apartments just in case I needed them.54
“I don’t know how to use a gun. I was just about to learn how to use them before I got changed into a vampire which by the way I honestly don’t think is that bad anymore.” He said55
“that’s great that you like it so much now but gun skills come with the vampire DNA.” I replied.56
“Oh well I guess that makes me feel better come on we’d better get going now.” 57
“Come on up the stairs onto the roof!” I called already half way up the first flight of stairs.58
It only took about 5 seconds to get up all 10 flights of stairs and onto the roof.59
“Ok Jake, now we have to jump from this building to the next ok, ready watch me very closely.” I told him taking 5 paces back and then running full speed to the edge of the building and then I am airborne. In one second I am on the other roof of the building next to the apartments still holding my machine gun.60
“Ok, it’s your turn Jake quickly take a few paces back and then sprint. When you reach the edge of the building jump!” I called out knowing he could hear me due to our vampire senses. 61
“Ok!” He called back.62
With the police sirens now out the front of the old apartment block we had no time to lose.63
“Quick Jake jump! They're here! Hurry!” I called.64
“Ok, I’m coming.” He replied taking a couple of paces back then shooting himself across the roof and into the air. Then all of a sudden he was standing next to me trying to catch his breath.65
“I think it’s time to start shooting, Jake.” I said uncertain.66
“Why?” He asked.67
“Because look in the sky there’s a helicopter. But luckily it’s one of the most cheapest types of helicopters the cops could own, im surprised they didn't get something more...better, but we still have to keep moving not matter how strong it is.” I answered.68
“Oh this is just great. I’m going to go to jail aren’t I? I started off a security guard at the local prison and now I’m going to be in that jail. Excellent!” He whined.69
“We are not going to prison. We are going to escape to Sydney and after that since the cops will be trying to track us we will go to L.A for a while. Ok, we’ll be fine.” I reassured him.70
“What? L.A it’s so far away we won’t even be near Australia anymore. Why L.A?”71
“Because that’s where I lived for 100 years after I moved there from Australia. I know my way around the entire city like you wouldn’t imagine. I have lived almost everywhere in all my years alive. Because I get chased by the cops all over the world so I always have to change my identity and that is what we will be doing.” I told him.72
“What are our names going to be?” He asked.73
“I don’t know yet. But that doesn’t matter yet we will figure it out when we get to Sydney so we can put our names on our passports. Ok.” I replied74
“Alright, when do we leave?” He asked.75
“Umm…” I said as I pulled out the tickets. “Oh crap! The plane leaves in half an hour. Come on the airport is just over that bridge.” I said as I pointed to the local airport approximately 5km away.76
Chapter.6
“Ok Jake we’re here I will go just over there and put our bags through and you go over to that counter to get our tickets. Ok and I will meet you at the gate see you soon. Hurry!” I told him.78
“Ok please be fast!” He replied as he headed to where I directed him. When we met up at the gate Jake and I were just about to board the plane when I spotted a wanted sign on a notice board near the boarding gate.79
“Jake look.” I whispered quietly gesturing towards the wanted sign.80
“Wow news travels fast we should hurry up and get on the plane.” He said.81
"Once we are inside we have to get into the bathroom and change our appearance quickly so that no one notices we look different. Kay.” 82
I ordered him and then we gave the attendants our tickets and we boarded our plane. Once we were in the air and the seatbelt signs went off I informed Jake that he could go first.83
“Ok Jake, listen you have to run with such speed that no one sees you go in or out of that bathroom alright so you go first. Ok ready be as fast as possible here is your wig and new clothes.” I said as I handed him a bag full of his clothes, wig, passport and ID and he flew so fast down the corridor no one even had time to lift their head to see what happened and he was already back next to me.84
“Wow that was amazing.” I whispered astounded. “Ok my turn.” I said and then I was gone like the wind and in less than 2 seconds I was also back in my chair.85
“Not to bad yourself.” He whispered under his breath.86
“Thank-you.” I replied. “But seriously I have never met a newborn that could move that fast without getting caught Jake it is amazing.”87
“Really?” He asked a little mockery in his voice. “So I am better than you were when you were a newborn? Huh. How strange.” Yep that’s definitely Jake for you.88
“I didn’t say that.” I replied blushing. “It’s just I’ve never met a newborn that can control themselves that much besides me.” I lied.89
“You’re lying.” He said slyly. How did he know?90
“How did you know?” I asked confused.91
“Well you know how your creator Kredeulo had like heaps of powers and stuff?” He asked92
“Yeah”93
“Well I guess when you turned me into a vampire-since you put your blood on my wound-some of Kredeulo’s powers came to me and now like you I can read minds but unlike you I can tell when someone is lying to me.” Jake explained.94
“You cheater. That is so not fair.”95
“Well when I was human you kept reading my mind even when I told you to stop. So now we’re even.” He shot back at me but in a joking way.96
“We better get a little bit of rest at least because even though we are vampires we still have to sleep.” I told Jake although he was already half asleep.97
“Ok then. Goodnight Kalika.”98
“Goodnight Jake. I love you.”99
“Always.” He replied and then neither of us spoke again. We were in a deep sleep. The plane landed three hours later but luckily I was already awake, ready to wake Jake up and get off the plane.100
“Jake wake up. Wake up.” I whispered as I nudged him again and again until he woke up.101
“Good morning Kalika.” He said sleepily.102
“Please Jake just call me Kali.”103
“Ok Kali.”104
“Jake you have to get up we are here.” I said as we stood up and looked around and no one else was on the plane anymore wow we must have been knocked out.105
“What time is it?” He asked106
“Well we got on the plane at midnight, and it took three hours to get here. So it is only three in the morning. We will go to the hotel I booked for us and catch up on sleep so we can get up at midday to go to L.A. Ok?” 107
“Yeah ok sure I am actually not that tired but I guess I better sleep just in case.” He said. “Wait but I am kind of thirsty can we go hunting first? Or can I go while you get some sleep I promise I won’t take long. But you can come if you want. He said.108
“Do you mind if I come? I am kind of thirsty with all of this stuff going on.” I asked.109
“Sure you can come. What are we going to hunt?” He asked.110
“I don’t know maybe a lawyer or a real estate agent something better than a dirty old homeless person. Something we will both enjoy. You pick.” I answered.111
“Ok I’ll tell you when I find someone. So can I get a human instead of an animal?” He asked.112
“Yeah of course I am glad you are just like me I don’t fancy animals that much either.” I said.113
Chapter.7
As we walked the streets to find our next meal we saw a couple of lawyers walking down a dark alley.115
“Perfect.” I whispered to Jake who must have already known my plan because like me he could read my mind just like I could read his.116
“Wait. I think they might not be perfect they are drunk I can hear their thoughts they are wondering why they are walking down that alley and they are armed.” He said.117
“Trust me this is my favorite game I call it the drunk and armed. These types of guys are everywhere. This will be the best fun ever. What you do is first you tease them make them mad then when they get their guns out you attack. Believe me it’s great. Come on.”118
I reassured him.119
“Fine. You are so persuasive.” He said120
“Why thank-you.” I replied taking a bow. Then we both laughed and snuck down the alley. The first guy his tall with a black suit and black hair and the second guy is also tall with a black suit but he has blond hair.121
“Looky here what is this.” The first guy said.122
“Looks like we gots us a follower.” The second one said because I was alone Jake was around the corner waiting for my signal.123
“Why are you gracing us with your presents beautiful?” The first one said.124
“Because I am thirsty.” I replied evilly.125
“Well why don’t we get you a drink and a meal?” The second one said.126
“I’m sorry that’s not possible.” I said.127
“Why not?” they both asked at the same time.128
“Because. You are the meal.” I said grinning.129
“Don’t you mess around with us kid. How old are you anyway?” Blondie asked.130
“I am 1150 years old. What about you?” I asked.131
“You ain’t that old kid.” The black haired guy said getting mad. Just what I wanted.132
“Yes I am but I turned into a vampire when I was 16. Me and my boyfriend are vampires and he is just around the corner waiting for me to give him the signal to rip your heads off!” I yelled at them but not loud enough for anyone else to hear. 133
“Don’t mess around with us kid we got guns!” Blondie said backing away only to realize that he is just backing up to a dead end.134
“Yeah well I have claws, teeth and strength.” I replied. “Jake why don’t you come on out now, I think it’s time!”135
“Now whose Jake little lady?” the black haired guy asked136
“I am.” Jake said then before the men could scream they were dead.137
“Ready for bed yet Jake?” I asked138
“You know what I think I am. I am really tired.” He replied.139
After our meal we ran across the street and stole a car and made our way to the Hilton hotel. I sent Jake up to our room once I got the key so I could finish checking us in. When I got up to the room Jake had just finished getting out of the shower and getting dressed. He must have been really tired because he lay straight on the bed and said “goodnight my darling Kali or should I say good day. I love you.”140
“Good day my love sleep well.” I replied. After that I had a shower got changed and then I lay on the bed and there was silence I was asleep alongside with Jake. I set my alarm for 10:30am so we had enough time to get to the airport and go to L.A.141

My alarm went off at 10:30am like I set it for but Jake was already up showered and had packed all our stuff. Huh he really wasn’t that tired after all. 143
“Jake.” I whispered sleepily.144
“Oh. Sorry I wanted to let you sleep you were really tired. I already packed everything except for a change of clothes for you they are in the bathroom.” Jake said.145
“Oh ok thanks Jake. Do you want to eat breakfast? Well see if you still eat breakfast?” I asked.146
“Sure.” He laughed.147
“I am just going to have a shower I’ll meet you down in the restaurant ok Jake.” I said.148
“Sure Kali see you soon.” He said as he headed for the door.149
After I was showered and dressed I went down to the restaurant to meet Jake for breakfast only to find he has already ordered. He got both of us breakfast from the smell of it I think it’s bacon, eggs, tomato and toast. That used to be my favorite when I was human but I guess I haven’t tried it as a vampire. Maybe it will still be my favorite human food. Even though I said I hated human food I haven’t had it in like 100 years. Maybe I will like it.150
“Hello again Jake.” I said happily.151
“Hey what are you so happy about?” He asked.152
“I guess I am just in a great mood because soon I will be starting a new life but this time it’s with you. Also this used to be my favorite human food and I was just thinking maybe I will like human food again because I haven’t tried to eat human food in almost 100 years.” I told him.153
“Well come on and try it then. I have to say it’s not that bad.” He said. I went and joined him at the table and tried eating it. It was… actually pretty good.154
“Do you like it Kali?” Jake asked.155
“It’s okay I guess. Hey Jake is your name short for anything?” I asked realizing I didn’t know if his name was short for anything.156
“Uh… yeah it’s short for Jacob. Why?” he asked.157
“Oh just wondering I guess just out of curiosity.” 158
“I haven’t had time to have a look yet what is my new name for my passport and such?” Jake asked.159
“Your name is Michael Steven and my name is Kaitlyn Steven.”160
“So we are married now? Never knew that. Bit young don’t you think?” He said.161
“We are technically married you only have to pretend but I can change the names if you want. If you don’t want to be married.”162
“No I’m okay with it but why don’t we make it official?” he asked.163
“What. I’m confused Jake.” But as I said that he got down on his knee and grabbed a little black velvet box from his pocket.164
“Kali?” He said.165
“Oh boy.” I said blushing.166
“Kali, will you marry me?” 167
“Oh gosh. Yes!”168
“Thank-you. I love you!” He said and hugged me.169
“I love you too.”170
“Don’t worry there won’t be a ceremony just the fact that you said yes is enough for me.” He said.171
“But how did you know I didn’t want a ceremony?”172
“What do you think?” he asked.173
“Oh right I forgot what we were.” He and I laughed together.174
“Let’s go to the airport. Don’t wanna miss our flight.” He said.175
“Okay let’s go. Wait what is the time our plane leaves at 12?” I asked getting paranoid.176
“Don’t worry it’s only eleven o’clock but we do have to go now so we’re not late.” He reassured me.177
“Oh thank god. Kay let’s go.” I said and smiled as big as possible as we ran to the reception to check out. 178
Chapter.9
When we reached the airport like the last time I took the luggage over to the luggage drop off and Jake went to get the plane tickets. But this time we met at a bookstore in the airport shops. Just in case either of us got bored and wanted something to read.180
“So what are you thinking about getting Kali?” Jake asked.181
“I am thinking about getting this book it’s called Twilight it sounds pretty good. Are you going to get anything?”182
“Nah I don’t read much I guess I’ll watch a movie or something with those airplane DVD things.” He replied.183
“Oh ok I will meet you up at the gate I’m just going to buy this book. Kay.”184
“Don’t be too long see you in a minute.” He said as he walked over to the escalator and then disappeared. After I bought the book I ran up the stairs and when I saw Jake and he saw me we both smiled. But then I looked behind him and saw a security walking around showing everyone the wanted sign and asking if they have seen Jake and I. My smile faded. I gestured for Jake to come to me.185
“Jake we have to get inside the plane now. That security guard might recognize us.” I whispered.186
“But they don’t open the gate for another 10 minutes.” He replied.187
“Wait come with me I will try to bribe the attendants.” I said.188
“Ok. How much money do you have?” He asked. 189
“First I will try $1000.00 if that doesn’t work I will try $2000.00 and of course we both know it will work besides they would probably take even less than a thousand but I’m feeling generous. Ok come with me.” I said.190
“Ok but I think they would take like one hundred even.” He said.191
“Like I said I am feeling generous. Besides I don’t know how but vampires always have money so come on.” I said and Jake followed. I can’t believe I am married at sixteen. Sort of sixteen anyway.192
“Excuse me.” I said in my sweetest voice as I got my money ready. “Can you please open the gate now and let me and my husband in we are in kind of a rush.” 193
“Um I’m sorry that’s not possible you will just have to wait like everyone else.” The blonde female attendant said.194
“Oh are you sure I have something for you.” I said as I reached for the money in my pocket. The first $1000.00. For a minute I see the attendant thinking about what to do but then she makes her decision and smiles at me politely.195
“I’m sure something can be arranged.” She said taking the money from my hand and putting it under the counter. “You may go through now.” As she ushered us through the gate others must have thought they could go to because some other people were following us but she stopped them.196
“Oh sorry these were our VIPs they must go through first to their private seating.” As it turns out, she must have called the plane attendants and told them to give us private seating, because once we were on the plane, trying to find our seats we were taken to a private room at the back of the plane with a bar, fridge, a bed and everything. 197
“Oh my god Jake this is amazing! Holy crap there is even a bathroom. Awesome.” I said.198
“Yeah it’s great look at the bed it’s huge!” He replied sounding just as excited as I was.199
“We’d better eat something seeing how we both still like human food. What do you want?” I asked.200
“No it’s fine I’ll make it.” Jake said.201
“Jake we can get room service!” I called plopping down onto the big soft cushy bed and looking at the menu.202
“Oh right. What do you want? I’ll order now.” He asked.203
“Um…I want a cheese omelet. I know that’s more for breakfast but I just want to try it to see if I like it.” I said.204
“Ok I guess I will have the same. Sounds good.” Jake said and he walked to the other side of the room to order our ‘lunch.’ I found a remote next to the bed and realized that there was a flat screen TV in here! Wow not to bad.205
When Jake was off the phone I pointed to the TV.206
“They think of everything.” I told him.207
“Yeah. What do you want to do now?” He asked.208
“Um…Watch TV, read or take a shower or something while we wait for our food.” 209
“Well why don’t we do the original plan you can read and I’ll watch some DVD’s.” he laughed.210
“Or we can both watch DVD’s until we fall asleep it is a 18 hour ride.” I laughed with him.211
“That won’t take long you look really tired.” He said.212
“I am. But still I will try to watch some movies first. What have we got to offer?” I asked eyeing a TV cabinet full of DVD’s. Jake’s eyes followed my gaze.213
“Wow that’s a lot to choose from I get to pick the first one.” He said but before I could reply I was sound asleep. I heard him laugh quietly and he went to sleep beside me instead of watching a movie.214

We woke up after having just 3 hours of sleep so we still had a whole 15 hours left.216
“Hey Jake we forgot about our food.” I said sleepily.217
“No when you fell asleep just as I was about to sleep it came. Our food is waiting in the oven for us. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat now?” Jake asked me.218
“I will eat if you do.” I replied.219
“Kali just eat if you’re hungry. But if you want I will eat with you.” He said.220
“Ok let’s eat.”221
“Ok it should still be hot though because I left the oven on warm while we slept.” He replied.222
“Ok.” I said. 223
After we ate we watched a few movies.224
“Let’s watch a scary movie.” I said.225
“Like what?” Jake asked.226
“I don’t know actually we should watch a movie about vampires. A romantic drama type movie called Twilight.” I said.227
“Have they even got it here?” He asked.228
“Most likely. I’ll have a look though although I already know because I can see through walls and stuff. Yes they do have it.” I said.229
“How can you do that?” Jake asked.230
“Well I guess it just came along in my sleep. I guess Kredeulo had a lot of powers. Maybe you will get it too.” I said. “Let’s hope.”231
“Why?” 232
“Because then we could be proper partners and fight crime and everything side by side.” I replied.233
“Yeah, I guess that would be pretty cool.” He said.234
“Well do you want to watch the movie or not?” I asked.235
“If you want to.” He answered.236
“Yes but are you sure you want to?” I asked.237
“Yes I do, Kali, I do.” He replied.238
“Well ok let’s put it on.” I said standing up and stretching.239
“Here let me.” He said. “You just go get comfortable.”240
“Uh…Ok what’s the special occasion?” I asked laying down back on the bed.241
“No occasion it’s just that tonight is our last night of peace for a while I’m guessing. The cops all know that we have left because no one has seen us in while. They are thinking about asking all the attendants at the airport if they have seen us or people with our names. The one that you bribed said that she has seen us well heard our names. We must have called each other by our real names instead of our fake ones and now they are on the next flight to L.A.” He said cautiously.242
“Don’t worry my newborn mate. We are three hours ahead of them well its actually four hours now so when we get to L.A we will just get another flight to somewhere else.” I replied smoothly trying to keep my cool.243
“Well where are we going to go?” Jake asked.244
“How do you feel about New York?”245
“Why New York?” He asked I was waiting for that question.246
“Because it is always loaded with people so we will be harder to find.”247
“Right. Wait a minute why couldn’t I read your mind?” 248
“That was another of Kredeulo’s gifts he could block out people’s thoughts and stop others from reading his I guess I got it. But don’t worry I will only block my mind when I am thinking of something I am not sure of. But when we get trapped or something we can communicate through our thoughts.” I said.249
“Right.” Jake said sarcastically but also laughing. I threw a pillow at his head with such force-because I am so strong-that when the pillow reached him it ripped apart and knocked Jake out but since we are fast healers he was up on his feet laughing.250
“You really shouldn’t have done that.” He said smiling wickedly.251
“You wouldn’t.” I dared him but before he could respond he was attacking me-playfully-I screamed luckily though the flight attendants gave us a soundproof room.252
“I’m gonna kill you Jake when we get off this plane,” I told him although it didn’t come out very clear because he and I were laughing so hard I was crying.253
“Sure, Sure.” He said.254
“Wait I guess this room wasn’t as soundproof as we thought the attendant is coming to check on us. Wait no she turned around.” I laughed.255
“Cool.” He said. 256
“Yeah. I am getting bored you can do what you want but I am going to watch Twilight.” I said.257
“Nah… I will watch it with you.” He replied.258
“Ok.” I said. “But remember it kind of a romance so I don’t know if you’ll like it.”259
“Maybe I will, maybe I won’t you can never live life if you don’t try different things.” He said.260
“I guess so.” I replied. 261
At the end of the movie as I turned the TV off I went to talk to Jake and ask if he liked the movie but he was sound asleep. So I just chuckled and fell asleep to. When I woke up Jake was again already up and packed because our luggage was delivered to us which is strange because we are on a plane but it seems like we are in a hotel. 262
“Wow we slept for 18 hours.” I said sleepily.263
“Yeah.” He replied.264
“Hang on we only had like 15 hours left of the flight. Oh no Jake their on to us we have got to get out of here.” I said. “The attendant must have recognized us and put us in here on purpose so we would be trapped.” 265
“But how do we get out the attendants are out there waiting for the police?” Jake asked. 266
“Jake there are some things you don’t know about yet like we are stronger than 6 000 body builders and we can jump from any height and land on our feet without even a scratch.” I said.267
“Wow. But how does that help Kali?” Jake asked.268
“Jake I am talking about we punch a hole in the wall and jump out. Here watch.” I said as I punched a massive hole in the side of the plane without it even making a sound. Then I jumped out and landed on my feet without a scratch on my body.269
“Quick Jake, your turn hurry the attendant is coming!” I whispered and of course he could here with our sense of hearing.270
“I’m coming!” He called back and jumped out of the plane.271
“Jake, are you thirsty?” I asked.272
“Yeah I kinda am. Time for a feed?” He said.273
“I think it is.” I replied. “Let’s go.” By the time we reached the city it was just about empty except for two people walking under a supposedly haunted bridge.274
“Perfect. Ok Jake I will follow those guys under the bridge and you wait on top of the bridge and when I give you the signal jump down and get your half.” I ordered.275
“Uh… okay then. See you in a minute.276
“Okay.” I replied as we both sprinted off in our different directions. I snuck under the bridge trying to keep myself hidden in the shadows and I purposely threw a rock at the side so it echoed of the wall.277
“Steve what was that? I knew this was a bad idea.” The first one said.278
“I dunno Jim who cares don’t be a crybaby it was probably just nothing.” That must be Steve and the other one must be Jim, I thought.279
“Look Steve what’s that?” Jim said nervously pointing obviously to me.280
“It looks like a girl.” Steve replied.281
“Yes I am a girl.” I said still in the shadows.282
“What’s your name?” Jim asked.283
“My name is Kalika but you can call me Kali.” I replied.284
“Well why don’t you show yourself?” Jim asked you could tell he was drunk.285
“Because I may not be able to control myself if I see you so soon.” I replied.286
“Why would that be?” Steve asked.287
“Because I am a vampire.” I said stepping into the light. They both gasped when they saw my canine teeth hiding behind my devilish smile.288
“That’s impossible. Vampires aren’t real.” Steve said almost crying.289
“I hate it when people say that it makes me so mad.” I said. “I thought you might want to meet my husband. Jake come on out now, it’s time.” Then Jake dropped from what looked like the roof but was really the top of the bridge. That turned out well.290
“Huh.” They both said together. 291
“Is he like you too?” Steve asked.292
“Yes he is. Steve you are his meal and Jim you are mine.” I said moving closer to Jim.293
“Why me? I don’t believe you.” Jim said sounding unsure.294
“Jake I think it’s time for a demonstration.” I told Jake still looking at Jim and then Steve was gone to the back of the bridge, his screams echoing off the walls.295
“Please I don’t want to die.” Jim pleaded crying now. Then I said my favorite line.296
“Then you should never have been born.” I said and then he was gone to.297
“Jake! Jake where are you?” I called.298
“I’m over here.” A voice replied but it didn’t sound like Jake at all.299
“Jake is that you?” I called again.300
“Yes it is. Kalika come here.” The voice replied.301
“Okay. I’m coming Jake stay where you are.” I said. But as I drew closer I realized it was not Jake.302
Chapter.11
I sprinted back down towards the bridge opening calling for Jake but it didn’t work he was no where to be seen. But then I saw him.304
“Jake there you are! Where have you been?” I asked.305
“Sorry I was getting cleaned up I was covered in blood that guy was quite a struggle.” Jake replied.306
“Jake we have got to get out of here someone is out there and he knew who we were.” I said.307
“Hang on wait how do you know it was a he?” He asked.308
“Because when I thought it was you I started walking towards him and I got a glimpse of him and his voice was more deep than a girls.” I explained.309
“Wait what.” Jake said stopping in his tracks. “He talked to you.”310
“Yes I thought it was you he said it was so I walked up to him.” I replied.311
“Oh no come on let’s go we have got to get out of here.” He said grabbing my hand and pulling me along and I followed.312
“Where should we go?” I asked.313
“Well we obviously need to get out of town. So I say we go to England.” He replied.314
“Why England?” I said.315
“Well I suppose I have always wanted to go there.” He answered.316
“Oh okay.” I said. “You know the guy I was talking about that was under the bridge well I recognized him from my past but I can’t really put my finger on who it was. But I definitely knew who it was.”317
“Well just take a guess. Think about your past and who was in it.” Jake said.318
“Well the ones he looked like were hmm… oh I know there was Safron, Blake or Timothy. I would have to say that this “stranger” had to relate to one of those three.” I replied.319
“Do you have any photos?” Jake asked as we stopped outside the airport.320
“No I don’t think so but I might have somewhere in my bag. Oh that’s right we don’t have any bags we lost them when we got out of the plane but I know I can get them wait here I will be back in one minute. Okay just promise me you will stay here. Hide behind that bush over there.” I said pointing to a nearby bush.321
“Ok I promise but hurry I can hear what the cops are thinking and they are getting pretty close just hurry. Okay.” He whispered.322
“I’ll be right back.” I replied as I took off for the airport front entrance. I returned just two minutes later with our bags and new disguises.323
“Let me guess we have to change our identities again?” Jake asked.324
“Yes and no we keep our names, change our appearance.” I replied.325
“But where are we going to change we can’t go in there looking like this.” Jake said pointing to my clothes.326
“I guess we’ll have to take turns getting dressed behind the bush you were just hiding in. I’ll go first.” I said.327
“Okay.” Jake said but before he could say anything else I was already gone.328
“Your turn.” I said when I was back.329
“Kay.” Jake replied. Then Jake went to get changed. He was back about two minutes later.330
“Okay now we have to get in and get on the next plane to England. Are you sure that’s where you want to go?” I asked Jake.331
“Yes I’m sure I have always wanted to go there. Let’s just hope that our “stranger” doesn’t follow us.” He replied but in a sad tone.332
“Jake what’s wrong?” I asked sighing.333
“Nothing.” He replied looking away.334
“Jake.”335
“Fine, I want to go to England because that was where my mother and father died in a car accident and I was hoping that we could stop by the cemetery.” He said now looking into my eyes. His big blue eyes were filled with such sadness that it made me want to cry.336
“Oh Jake.” I said flinging my arm around him. “Of course we can go to the cemetery if you want. But I know how you feel.” 337
“How can you?” Jake said. “You don’t know what it’s like to lose your parents.”338
“Actually I do. But it was worse than your story. I drained my parents’ blood. It was an accident I was just a two day old newborn vampire and I was unbelievably thirsty. I tried to help them, I tried to give the blood back but it was too late.” I said now weeping gently.339
“How did you not get caught?” Jake asked.340
I cried more heavily now.341
“I threw their bodies into a river.” I replied.342
“Oh Kali, I’m sorry I guess you do know what it’s like. Sorry.” Jake apologized.343
“It’s not your fault. It happens. Well in your case but not mine I doubt that it ever happens the way I told the story.” I said.344
“Well let’s go inside and catch the next flight.” Jake said.345
“Okay.” I replied wiping away the last of the tears. Then we ran into the airport entrance. 346
“Are we going to do the same as usual? You know you go to put in our luggage and I’ll go to get the tickets and so on and so forth.” Jake said.347
“Uh… I guess so I’ll meet you at the cafeteria so we can get some food before the twelve hour flight.” I said. “See you later.”348
“Bye.” He replied.349
