How is Scribe Share different from other writing web sites?

This is the number one question when users first come to Scribe Share, how is it different. To begin, Scribe Share is not a forum nor blog based, but a site with features made specifically for writers. The feature that stands out as the most unique is the writer’s journal. Each piece of literature is governed by a Writer’s Journal and in the journal the writer is able to create characters, objects, settings, groups and notes. When an element such as character is created, it is up to the author how much detail they want to put into it. For instance they can enter name, age, body weight, height, body build, siblings, and many other aspects of the character. The writer’s journal is the ultimate tool to helping you develop your literature.

What is a Writer’s Journal?

A Writer’s Journal is a tool writers use to organize their literature. The journal can contain characters, plots, settings, races, random ideas and anything that writers feel may be important to their piece. Many great writers kept a Writer’s Journal and often completed their journals before they even started to actually write their piece. Keeping a writer journal has many benefits to you, the author, and will help you as develop your stories.

How can Scribe Share be used for Role-Play?

Simple, with Scribe Share you can start a role-play like on any other Role-Play site except you have more control over how the story goes. Start out by logging in and go to ‘Create New Literature’. Fill out the fields and when you are asked for the type of literature, select Role-Play. There is also a special rules section designed for your Role-Play where you can make the rules. When you enter the writer’s journal of your role-play, you can create your characters, settings and other aspects of the story. Anyone who role-plays with you can create characters in your role-play as long as they are co-authors. The characters are easily accessible and changeable using the writer’s journal. There is also a private discussion room for your role-play designed for you and other characters in your role-play to talk about your ideas. Remember to use your imagination when using the writer’s journal to create your story.

When you put all your ideas and chapters online, what are the odds that somebody steals your ideas or novels?

To answer that question, it is first a good idea that if you allow anyone to view your work, online or off, you should always copyright it first. The writer’s journal for a piece is only visible to you and any co-authors that you allow. Scribe Share does have viewing options for each piece if you don’t want to share your ideas with the public. In the writer’s journal navigate to the ‘Options’ section and select the ‘private’ option and none of your work will be visible in public. You can also individually choose what chapters, characters, settings, groups and objects are visible to the public. The writer’s journal gives you complete control over your literature..
